Rashmika was born to parents Nikhil and Lakshmi in Chennai. She has an elder sister named Karthi.
At the early age of four, she was enrolled in the Kala Vidya Peetham where she learned dance and music.
She then went on to learn more vocal techniques under the guidance of Pandit Ram Narayan who is also known as ‘Bhajan Master’. At the age of seven, she started singing for children’s programs at a local radio station and even performed live shows in various places like schools and colleges.
